Road Safety Big Sign Competition

Road Safety NT supported by East Arnhem Shire Council is running a Road Safety 'Big Sign' Competition. The people of Groote Eylandt are encouraged to submit art for the Big Sign competition. The Big Sign competition is about finding the best road safety picture to put on a road sign telling people to stay safe on the Umbakumba Road.
The winner, will get their artwork recognised by everyone, plus:
- Receive a $500 cash prize
- Have their artwork put up on a big billboard on the Umbakumba Road
- Have their artwork put on stickers and calico bags
The artwork and message
The artwork can be any style of art including traditional, contemporary, paint, drawing, photographic or any other form. It must include a road safety message about one or more of the following:
- Seatbelts - Always wear your seatbelt
- Licensing - Licensed drivers are safe drivers
- Overloading - Don’t put too many people in the car
- Speeding - Slow down, don’t speed
You can use words or pictures but your message needs to be clear.
