Do you have what it takes to go the distance?

The Indigenous Marathon Project is on a mission to find the next champion Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander runners to represent their people and country in the 2016 Olympics.

Robert de Castella and the team from the Indigenous Marathon Project (IMP) will be returning to Arnhem Land in search for athletes to participate in the 2013 New York Marathon in the hope of identifying long term prospects for the Brazil Olympics.

The Indigenous Marathon Project in partnership with East Arnhem Shire Council will be running tryouts in Yirrkala on Monday 18th March for athletes who want the chance to run in New York City.

In the lead up to the tryouts, East Arnhem Shire Council Youth, Sport and Recreation Team will hold regular deadly fun runs/walks for those wanting to have fun and get fit at the same time.

The deadly fun runs/walks will be held in Yirrkala. So start stretching, chuck your runners on and get running!
