LET'S KEEP IN TOUCH! 

We understand that it’s easy to miss or forget important information! Council is rolling out a great new service where you can subscribe for free emails or text messages about the things happening in Ramingining & Galiwin'ku.

What is Whispir?

Whispir is a free messaging service that enables Council to connect with you to update you on information and upcoming events within the community. Whispir can also keep you informed with up to date information in the event of an emergency situation. Notifications will be delivered either by text messages, emails or voice message.

During the first phase, this service will be available for Ramingining and Galiwin'ku only. If you are interested in receiving this service, simply fill in the REGISTRATION FORM indicating which service you would like information about and how you would like this delivered, then return the completed form to your local East Arnhem Regional Council Office or email it to info@eastarnhem.nt.gov.au

DRAFT COUNCIL PLAN OPEN FOR COMMENT

 

Now is your chance to have a say on the 2016-2017 Council Plan & Budget!

On the 25 May 2016, Council approved the Draft 2016/17 Council Plan & Budget at the Ordinary Council Meeting. The Plan provides direction to Council, staff, community members and other stakeholders on the ongoing development of East Arnhem Regional Council and its communities.

It talks about all of Council’s services and programs and how the budget will be allocated for the next financial year. 

The Council Plan & Budget will be open for your comment until 30 June 2016. We look forward to hearing from you! To view the 2016-2017 Council Plan & Budget click here.

2016 - 2020 LEARNING STRATEGY LAUNCHED

East Arnhem Regional Council today launched the 2016 - 2020 Learning Strategy, reflecting Council’s strong commitment to the ongoing skills development of its workforce and to providing career pathways for its employees. 

Also announced was an exciting new working partnership with not-for-profit social enterprise, Infoxchange, in an effort to improve digital literacy of Indigenous people and enable increased access to education and training.

The four year strategy focuses on developing a highly skilled Council workforce, preparing people for employment and future careers with Council and the development of communities and businesses across East Arnhem Land. 

The Strategy outlines a series key targets to be achieved by 2020 including:

  •  Employ more than 70% Indigenous people
  • Provide training for 100% of employees every year
  • Provide opportunity to develop the internet skills of 1000 Indigenous people
  • Assist 10% Indigenous businesses to develop their online business
  • Facilitate broadband Internet connectivity for all EARC communities and provide individual connections for 1000 Indigenous people

Today's event took place in East Arnhem's beautiful coastal community of Yirrkala, with a bunggul conducted by Rirratjingu TOs, followed by the official launch and signing of the partnership agreement at the Buku-Larrngay Mulka Art Centre. View the Strategy here.
